Welded mesh used for concrete slab reinforcement (floors, terraces, screeds, industrial slabs). In Morocco, Sonasid is main producer. Standard format: 2.40×6.00 m panel. Designation: ST + wire diameter (mm).
Compression slab on beam-block floor (R+1 villa): ST25 or ST40 (5-6 mm, 150 mesh) sufficient. Solid 15 cm slab (R+1): ST50 (7 mm). Parking/heavy load: ST65 (9 mm). Always verify with structural engineer.
Standard panel 2.40 × 6.00 m = 14.40 m² (usable ~13 m² with min 1-mesh overlap). For 100 m²: 8 panels + 5-10% waste + overlap = 9-10 panels. ST50 budget 100 m²: 6,500-9,500 MAD + 2,000-4,000 install.
Minimum overlap: 2 meshes = 30 cm in 150×150 mesh, or 20 cm in 100×100. At each joint: cross wires, tie with 1.2 mm annealed wire. At corners and high-moment zones (column axes): 50-60 cm reinforced overlap.
Welded mesh: massive time saver (5× faster install), uniform quality (factory welded), ideal for regular slabs. HA bars: full flexibility for complex shapes (beams, walls, footings), shop fabrication onsite. Most villa sites combine both.
Compression slab (5-7 cm on beam-block): mesh at upper third (3-5 cm from top) on 25-30 mm spacers. Solid slab: top AND bottom mesh per plan. Never touch formwork: 2.5 cm minimum concrete cover in tension fiber.
