Construction & Housing — Morocco's #1 portal 🇲🇦
The flush door (isoplane) is the standard interior door in Morocco: two thin wood panels on a light frame. Categories: honeycomb (cheapest), tubular (better stability), solid (MDF, sound-rated). Local production (Maroc Portes, Wood Industries) + Turkey/China imports.
Honeycomb: cardboard core (90% air). Very light (~10 kg), cheap, but dents on impact, can't hold quality locks long-term. Tubular: solid vertical wood strips core. Heavier (15-20 kg), 2× impact resistant, holds premium locks. Short rental: honeycomb OK. Main residence: tubular minimum.
73 cm (70 passage): French minimum for secondary rooms. 83 cm (80 passage): standard bedrooms/offices. 93 cm (90 passage): for living rooms, main entrance, disability access. New build: 90 cm everywhere except closets.
Pre-laquered white (factory melamine): low price (450-750 MAD), immediate clean look, hard to repaint later (acrylic doesn't bond on melamine). Paint-ready (raw MDF surface): +100-200 MAD, allows custom finish (color, sheen). New build with decorator: paint-ready. Rental: pre-laquered.
Solid wood frame (oak/pine): robust, insulating, warm look, but heavy and expensive (300-700 MAD). Pre-laquered MDF: economical (180-400), fragile to vacuum cleaner impacts. Galvanized steel: for intensive use (commercial), very solid (400-800). Residential: MDF for bedrooms, wood for main entry.
T3 apartment (75 m²): main entry (often armored), bedrooms (2), bathroom, WC, kitchen, closets (2-4 sliding). Total interior: 5-7 + 2-4 closets. Standard tubular budget: 4,500-9,000 MAD. With frames + install: 8,000-15,000. R+1 villa: 12-18 doors, 25,000-50,000 all-in.
