Construction & Housing — Morocco's #1 portal 🇲🇦
Tiling is Morocco's most popular floor and wall covering, found in 9 out of 10 homes. In 2026 the market is dominated by three families: glazed ceramic (entry and mid-range, 60–180 MAD/m²), full-body porcelain stoneware (upper mid-range, 180–450 MAD/m²) and natural stone — marble, travertine, granite (premium, 450 MAD to over 1,500 MAD/m²). Traditional Moroccan zellige and its printed-porcelain imitations form a niche segment for hammams, fountains and heritage façades. The market is led by four national makers — Super Cerame, Cerames Centrale, Cerame Loukili and Trends Cerame — alongside Italian (Marazzi, Florim) and Spanish (Porcelanosa, Pamesa) imports for premium projects. To buy wisely, compare size, calibration, PEI rating (wear resistance, 1 to 5), R rating (slip resistance, R9 to R13) and thickness. Ask three questions: indoor or outdoor use, light or heavy traffic, wet or dry surface. On lechantier.ma you'll find m² prices updated monthly, verified suppliers near you and a 24-hour installation quote.

Calibration indicates dimensional precision. Excessive variability (>0.5 mm) complicates laying and widens joints. Ask for rectified tiles to keep joints thin (1-2 mm).
Cuts, breakage and odd pieces demand a safety margin. For 50 m² of floor, order 55 m². Increase to 12-15% for diagonal patterns or large formats.
Large formats (60×60, 60×120, 80×80) visually expand rooms and minimize joints. Small formats (20×20, 30×30) tolerate uneven floors and lay more easily on small areas.
Installation accounts for 35-50% of the total budget. Plan 80-150 MAD/m² supply-and-lay for standard formats, 180-280 MAD/m² for large formats with thin-set laying on self-leveling screed.
