What tempered glass thickness for a shower?

Standard walk-in shower partition: 8 mm (380-650 MAD/m²). Frameless cabin (clip fixings): 10 mm. Partitions over 1.40 m height: 10 mm minimum. Avoid 6 mm in showers.

Why is tempered glass mandatory for railings?

Standards require all glazing under 1 m or as railing to be tempered OR laminated. Prefer laminated 44.2 for balcony railings: if tempered breaks, no more railing. Laminated stays in place.

Can tempered glass be cut?

No. Tempered glass must be cut BEFORE tempering. Any post-temper cut/drill/grind shatters it. Provide all dimensions and holes to manufacturer before production. Measure 3 times — 1 cm error = unusable piece.

Tempered or laminated glass?

Tempered: 5× more impact-resistant, breaks into safe confetti, sensitive to edge impacts. Laminated: 2 glasses + PVB film, anti-burglary, stays in place. Best balcony combo: laminated tempered (4.4.2).

What's the lead time?

Standard local glass 6-10 mm: 7-12 days. 12 mm or complex laminated: 14-21 days. Custom etched, frosted, or imported: 4-6 weeks. Order glass once openings are finalized (before tiling and painting).
