Swing or sliding?

Swing: cheap (3.5-9.5k MAD alu), simple install, 110° opening. Needs 3-4m clearance behind. Sliding: total space saving, side opening, ideal slope/narrow yard. Pricier (6.5-22k), complex install, cantilever 2× more but no ground rail.

Aluminum, wrought iron or wood?

Aluminum: ZERO maintenance, lightweight = simple/durable motorization, modern look, 30-50yr life, free RAL colors. Wrought iron: max security, traditional Moroccan look, 50+yr life, but anti-rust every 5-7yr + heavy motor. Exotic wood: high-end, warm, lasure every 3-5yr, humidity-sensitive.

Motorize: yes or no?

Yes if: daily use (>3 passes/day), vehicle, flat ground (swing) or rail OK (sliding), budget +4.5-12k MAD. Benefits: comfort (in-car remote), security (always closed), longer gate life. Ideally with: safety photocells (NF mandatory), flashing light, dry contact for alarm/intercom.

Total cost villa?

Standard villa: alu swing 3.5m (5.5-8.5k) + motor (5.5-7.5k) + install (3-5k) + intercom (1.5-3.5k) = 15.5-24.5k MAD. Premium: alu cantilever sliding 4m (16-20k) + premium motor (8.5-11k) + install (4-6k) + smart intercom (3.5-6.5k) = 32-43.5k.

Warranty?

Aluminum structure: 5-10yr (corrosion + deformation). Thermo-lacquer: 5-7yr (UV fade). Hardware: 2yr. Motor: 2-5yr by brand (Came/Faac 5yr premium). Install: 1yr (2011 law). Request: detailed invoice, electrical compliance cert, manual, SAV points. Brands with Morocco SAV: Came, Faac, Somfy, Nice.
