6cm: pedestrian only (~150 kg/m²). 8cm: light vehicle occasional. 10cm: heavy vehicle. Choose thicker if in doubt (+30% cost but avoids sinking/breakage).
1) Excavate 25-35cm. 2) All-in 0/40 base 15-20cm compacted. 3) 0/4 sand bed 3-5cm leveled. 4) Lay pavers edge-to-edge. 5) Vibrate with rubber plate. 6) Joint with swept fine sand + water. Clay soil: geotextile under base.
Install only: 80-145 MAD/m². Includes: excavation, sand bed, laying, jointing, vibration. Excludes: deep earthworks, edges (separate), drainage. 100m²: 8-14.5k MAD install. With 6cm grey material: total 14.5-24k all-in.
Reduces runoff (water infiltrates = recharges aquifer + zero surface pooling). Compliant with new RTCM 2024 regs for parking >100m². Avoids costly drainage installation. +30-50% cost but ROI on >150m². Ideal for heavy-rain zones (Tanger, Casa winter).
Annual: hard broom + water. Every 2-3yr: re-sand joints if washed out (25kg bag enough for 100m²). Eco weed killer if growth. Every 5yr: pressure wash (max 1500 PSI). Anti-moss in humid zones. Individual removal possible for pipe repair.
