Liquid or traditional?
Liquid (anhydrite): self-leveling, ±2mm/2m flatness, ideal for >30m² and large-format tiles 60×60+. More expensive. Traditional: hand-leveled cement+sand, ±5mm/2m, cheaper, versatile.
Min thickness?
Bonded screed: 3-4cm min. Unbonded (on polyane): 4-5cm. Floating (on insulation): 5cm + mesh. Heated floor: 5-6cm above pipes.
When can I tile after?
Traditional cement: 21-28 days drying before glued tiling, 7-10 days if urgent (<5% moisture). Liquid anhydrite: 24-48h walkable, 7-14 days before tile. Test moisture first.
Total cost for 100 m²?
Cement screed 5cm on 100m²: 8,000-11,000 MAD all-in. With mesh: +800-1,500 MAD. Liquid: 13,000-18,000 MAD (pump truck included). +500-1,500 for cure & 3-day watering.
How to avoid cracks?
1) Control joints every 25-40m². 2) Wet cure 3 days minimum. 3) Avoid fast drying. 4) Water/cement ratio <0.55. 5) Mesh if ≥6cm or heavy traffic. 6) 5-10mm perimeter joint.
