How to choose an architect in Morocco?

Check ONAM registration
Every legally practising architect must be registered with the National Order of Architects of Morocco. Ask for their registration number and verify it.

Compare at least 3 quotes
Fees range from 5% to 12% of the project cost. Compare offers but don't choose on price alone — expérience and références matter.

Review the portfolio
Ask to see the architect's portfolio: plans, photos of completed projects, and especially projects similar to yours (villa, building, rénovation...).

Clarify the scope
The architect can handle design only (plans + permit) or a full mission (design + site supervision). Clearly define the scope of their mission.

Check insurance
The architect must have professional liability insurance. Request a copy of the certificate before signing the contract.
